The Courageous Woman Retreat Recap

It is so very hard to articulate something so special and intangible. I am still trying to wrap my head around what took place. The whole preparation process for The Courageous Woman Retreat was a journey of lessons even up until moments before we began.  So I knew that God was up to something and it was going to be GOOD.  While I didn’t know any of the ladies who were attending, God knew them and wanted them to know how much they were loved. I was just a vessel and I am so grateful for the privilege.

The day started off at the spa where the ladies had breakfast and a spa treatment. For some, it was their first spa experience, so it was pretty cool. Afterwards, we convened in the meeting space to begin the workshops.  I opened with prayer and LuJuana led us in song. First up, Workshop #1, The Courage to Be Me. The ladies explored several questions related to being totally free to be themselves. And one special Sistah from each session was chosen to sit in the hot seat, share her answers and receive a mini coaching session. It was an amazing experience for everyone involved.

Workshop #2 was The Fearless Life. We talked about releasing the brakes, walking on water and launching out into the deep. Great revelations came forth and then it was lunch time. We enjoyed lunch, but we also had fun taking photos with the Pink Guitar, Feather Boa & Funky Shades. It was a great opportunity for the ladies to take a walk on the “Fearless Side” by releasing their inhibitions & just going with it.

After lunch, we started Workshop #3, Forever Free, and that was a pivotal point for a lot of the ladies. Their Aha Moments were being crystallized as they realized that they were free to laugh, free to love & free to live. LuJuana then sang a stirring rendition of “I Am Changing” and we were all in tears. That primed us to close out with a covenant agreement to our sisters. We pledged to honor the bond of sisterhood and hold each other accountable to our dreams.

The big “Take Away” was that being a Courageous Woman is, indeed, a journey with many starts and stops. But with God’s direction and the support of our sisters, NOTHING is impossible for us!

Stay tuned. There WILL be another Inspired Sistah retreat next year!

Live Courageously,
Tangie

The Final Stretch

We are two weeks away from The Courageous Woman Retreat and I feel a combination of excitement and anxiety.  My team and I are working really hard to ensure that the attendees will have an unforgettable experience.  And even though this is the third year, we are filled with as much anticipation as if it were the first.  Our goal is to always give the ladies more than they expected.  So many times that goal comes at the price of late nights, early mornings, lots of coffee and lots of PRAYER! But we do it with a heart of service and are very grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.  And while I’m making my list and checking it twice, I always try to keep in mind that, “All that matters is all that matters,” and that everything will be as it should.

I’m also in a state of anticipation because I believe something very special is going to take place at the retreat that will leave a deposit into their lives that they will be able to draw upon for years to come.  That humbles and excites all at the same time.  I count it a privilege to be able to facilitate such an awesome event and I don’t take it for granted.

So, with that in mind, I’m expecting great things and I can’t wait to greet the ladies at the spa Saturday morning! ;-)

Many Blessings,

Tangie

The Courageous Woman Retreat REMIXED

So, we’re almost two months away from The Courageous Woman Retreat and my team and I are enthusiastically preparing for this amazing event.  I’ve received a lot of feedback from ladies who desire to attend, but have various constraints whether it’s time, childcare, finances, etc.  And one thing that I’m clear about is that I’m called to serve women and it would be arrogant of me not to listen to the people I serve.  Also, it is my desire that everything I do is intentional.  I don’t host retreats just for the sake of hosting them.  I host them because I believe the uniqueness of Inspired Sistah Retreats is a welcome breath of fresh air which caters to a specific need that all women have.

With that being said, I have decided to condense The Courageous Woman Retreat into a spectacular one-day event.  We will do everything that was originally planned, just in a more succinct way.  Trust me, there will be nothing lacking.  It is my hope that by restructuring the retreat, it will create an opportunity for those who desire to attend, but had different challenges in doing so.  Please take a moment to review the revised itinerary and make plans to attend this wonderful event.  We’ve designed it with YOU in mind.  It is The Courageous Woman Retreat REMIXED.  Don’t miss it!

Blessings,

Tangie

A Courageous Woman

A Courageous Woman lives out her convictions. A Courageous Woman stands in the truth of what she believes. A Courageous Woman makes the hard decisions, answers the hard questions and doesn’t shrink back from difficulty. A Courageous Woman is intimately aware of her strengths as well as her limitations. She acknowledges her fears, but she doesn’t embrace them. Instead she endeavors to move past them and do “it” anyway. She’s not afraid of making mistakes and she understands the benefit of failing forward.

She is a dreamer,

a doer,

a winner.

I AM A COURAGEOUS WOMAN.

Are you?
